INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT (IPM)

What is IPM?

IPM is a program that integrates many different techniques to avoid or reduce a pest population or minimize its impact.  Cultural, biologic, and chemical controls are used.  

Lawnmaster's IPM program focuses on establishing a set of property-specific standards and uses a variety of techniques to discourage and manage pest problems.  Lawnmaster's IPM practices include:

• Minimizing pest/disease problems by using resistant grass/ plant varieties ideally suited for the site.
  
• Monitoring pest/disease  populations and tolerating up to a certain threshold level of pests before plants are treated.
  
• Using a variety of non-chemical control measures to manage pests/diseases.
  
• Encouraging plant health and vigor through proper maintenance practices including:  fertilization, irrigation, aerification, mowing at appropriate heights and proper pruning techniques.
